The worst time of the year.

I was just talking to a friend about how much I hate this time of the year.
The weather sucks, the sports suck, there is nothing majorly exciting happening at all.
First of all it seems that the weeks from Valantines Day to the Start of the College Basketball Tournaments are like the year's lowest point.

In Cleveland the sun will not come out (I think it's some sort of sadistic law around here), it will remain between 19 and 41 degrees with various states of rain snow and sleet. Everyone you know will get the flu or some sort of disease.

My house has been a sick ward. In the past week, both G and E are on antibiotics AND I got to spend 6 hours in the local ER with R who while she is 9 weeks Prego, she got 1. Walking Pneumonia 2. A sinus infection and 3. the Flu; all at the same time. I was fighting all this off until last Saturday when it finally hit me. At least I had a reason to lie around and watch my Flyers beat the Xavier Muskateers on ESPN.

Bringing me to sports. First, I hate the NBA, it is a terrible interpretation of how the game of Basketball is ment to be played. Since I hate the NBA, there is no hockey (which I really don't care about anyway), Football is over and my beloved UD Flyers only play once or twice a week. Sportswise, this time frame officially sucks in my book.

My kids are STIR CRAZY! They have been locked in the house staring at their play set for the past two weeks and are dying to know when it will get warm enough to go out and play.

I don't mean to complain, I just feel like the little kid sitting in the back of the car asking my dad if we are there yet? I guess you have to have bad times to really appreciate the good times. These 3 -4 weeks will really help me appreciate a warm, humid July evening when I'm sitting on my deck, listing to the Tribe on the radio, drinking a cold beer watching my kids on the swing set.... Ah heaven.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE???

I am constantly amazed by the Liberals.
Yesterday was a great day of mourning and remembrance. The atrocities at Auschwitz were learned about when that camp was liberated 60 years ago. Over 1.2 million souls were murdered at that facility, Jews, Gypsies, Russian POW's and others were murdered by the third reich. Our hearts cry out for them we vowed NEVER to let something like that happen again.

Now in-today's world, we liberate Iraq, get rid of a ruler that has killed citizens at a pace on par with Hitler and Stalin, give the people of that country democracy that must include all minorities and women, but in the liberal minds this effort is wrong. Are Kurd, women and other souls Iraq worth less than those from Auschwitz?

Next, I believe we should go to Africa and liberate those poor souls as well. Maybe that would be OK with the Teddy (fat drunk) Kennedy's of the world.

On another point, I watch ER, I may stop. During last nights episode, there was such blatant Bush Bashing it made me sick and took away from the story line. Lets get something straight right now. BUSH WON THE ELECTION, THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS WANT HIM AS PRESIDENT!!! Get over yourselves and help be a part of the solution, not continuing to be a part of the problem. You don't have to agree with all policies, but can't we work together to get a compromise? Bashing the president on one of America's most popular television programs is childish and reeks of jealousy. You can wear your black clothes in protest of his inauguration, you can come up with your silly chants, but please respect the person. I had two endure 8 years of the waste of flesh named, bill clinton.

On a lighter note, "R" and I are expecting our third child. Let's hope we get Social Security figured out, I'm going to need it after paying for all my children.

"Is there nothing donuts can't do?"

I love Homer Simpson, if you are ever down, go to google and type in "Homer Quotes". After reading a few pages and laughing like crazy you will be in a great mood.

I had to do that today. I have been pretty peeved about all the negativity that is flying around our country. I just don't get it. I understand the Democrats are upset they lost the election, but isn't it time to grow up, move on and work together?

First item, the Condi Rice nomination. What a joke! What were the Dem Senators trying to accomplish. Everyone in the US has heard their screams that W and Condi lied about the war ... blah blah blah... Unfortunately for them, the vast majority doesn't believe them. She was confirmed by a large majority .

Second item, W getting a second term in NOT the end of the world. Let's get something straight, the USA is a representative democracy that elects it's president through an electoral college. W, won. Get over it. Gays will not be executed, the supreme court will survive, just as it did when it was overly liberal in the 60's and 70's. There will NOT be a draft. Social Security will be fixed through some sort of compromise AND $40,000,000.00 for the inauguration is not a big deal.

Third item, how come when a Republican wants to fix social security, it's a huge problem. But when Hill Billy Klinton wanted to do it, everyone was all for it.

Fourth item, why is "N.O.W." not celebrating the liberation of women in Afghanistan and Iraq? That organization is a joke and will NEVER hold any credibility again.

OK, I feel better. I honestly try to evaluate issues on their merit and make the best decisions about how I feel on an issue. However this constant whining from the left is driving me fucking nuts.

GROW UP!

Can't live with 'em ... Pass the beer nuts

Reason #935,243,102 that I love "R".
I get an expensive gift for my birthday from my friends. They hand the recipt to "R" in case it doesn't work Sure enough, it doesn't work and "R" can't find the recipt! She suggests I take it to the store for an exchange. Great idea. I go to the store only to find out that without a recipt I can't return or exchange the gift. They have to send it out for REPAIR and I'll get it back in 10 to 20 business days. UGHHHHH!

Here is a little rant, I just don't understand women sometime. She can remember what nail polish color she is wearing, her girlfriends bra size, the birthday of anyone she's met, but things that are important routinely slip her mind. IT'S DRIVING ME FUCKIN NUTS!

I feel better. Thank you.

Now on to better news... the election will be over in 14 days. I can't wait. I'm tired of hearing people that know absoultely nothing about how the system works telling me how I should vote. I am however excited to see so many people getting interested in the process. All the Rhetoric is annoying but encouraging. Education is a wonderful thing. All the info being thrown around will eventually make for a more educated electorate and in turn a better country.

Passion

On the way into the office this AM I was thinking about Passion. Not sexual passion but the passion for things. Things such as individual achievement, music, food ... Etc.
It seems somewhere along the line, I've lost my passion for things other than TV and Food.

I'm not sure if it is a result of growing older and seeing how unimportant the things I was passionate about are or if I am too scorned by life to allow myself to get excited about something.
That sounded worse than I meant it, but maybe you can relate.

When I was younger things seemed so important. I lived for my next swim meet, I would count the hours until the next Springsteen album came out. To go out for a nice dinner was a HUGE treat. I can remember the excitement. I haven't felt that for a long time.

I'm not feeling sorry for myself or any sense of loss. I love my life and have a great relationship with my wife and children. I look forward to things, but don't feel the passion for them. I'm feeling today like I'm missing an old friend. Who knows, maybe I'm missing the days when my biggest concern was a Swim meet or where I'm going to buy the latest Album. No thinking about Mortgages, investments, savings plans, my weight and my children's future.

No joy in Mudville

What a terrible sports weekend for the good guys.

My Browns lost to the hated Steelers, my Buckeyes lost while looking terrible. The Yankee's won and to top it all off, Belicheck led the Pats to 19 straight wins. WHY COULDN'T HE DO THAT WHEN HE WAS HERE?

Enough venting, on the good side, I won $30.00 off my old boss.

I don't know about any of you, but I really can't wait until Nov. 3rd. At this point, I really don't care who wins (that's a lie) I am just so tired of the rhetoric, lies and the same conversation back and forth. There are no undecides left, lets go vote and get this over with.

I had a great conversation with my buddies this weekend. We found out that no matter how old you get, Farts and Boobs will always be funny. I know, all you women out there think we are infintile. You just don't get the humor in flatulance.

Bummer, I just got back from lunch. I am having a battle with my cholesterol that I seem to be loosing. I have been seriously trying to watch what I've been eating. So, I go to Quizno's and get their Honey Burbon Chicken. I'm thinking, no fat, no Cholesterol. I get back to the office, check their nutrition info on line and find out it has 38 Grams of Cholesterol. UGH! Looks like Salad for dinner tonight.

Random Thoughts

Friday 9:42 AM
Just a few things that are running through my head this AM

- I can decide who I hate more, Steeler Fans or Democrats. Steeler Fans have disgusting things like the Hillbilly accent they all speak with, the tin ring embedded in their back pocket (man or woman) and the female fans have more facial hair and tattoos than the male fans. On the other hand, democrats have Hollywood (one of their top faces stared in the movie Gigli), they are one step away from total hysteria if they don't win. On the other hand the Democrats do have some hot women (even though they are psycho). I'm going to have to say even though I don't agree with them, I hate democratic women less than Steeler Fans.

- How can my wife subtract $120.00 from the check book when the check was actually written for $1200.00? Looks like mac & Cheese until payday next Friday.

- How can Jamal Lewis only get suspended for two games when anyone else would lose their job for being involved in what he was doing?

- If I was single, and a good male friend of mine was down on his luck and didn't have benefits. I would tell my employer we were mates to allow him to get benefits. That is the kind of things that will happen if we allow gay marriage. Sounds great, but think of the cost! I don't dislike gay people, I just don't want to have my insurance benefits decrease more because two guys or girls decide they can't live without each other.

- How come when I drive through the ghetto, the neighborhood looks like a run down war zone. Boarded up houses and businesses, pot holes and garbage everywhere, but I pass by 239,438 churches that all have $70,000.00 vehicles parked in front of them that have "Pastor" license plates? Looks to me like there are some severely wrong priorities in our innercities.

- That's it, I'm suing the Catholic Church for my education. I have terrible grammar, punctuation and spelling skills. It can't be my fault! Someone please tell me what a run on sentence is.

- What I wouldn't give to go back to the day's before Cell Phones. I am convinced they are an instrument of the devil.

Take care have a great weekend.
